In mathematics, understanding numbers is fundamental. Each digit in a number has a value based on its position. Therefore, every digit has two types of values: Face Value and Place Value.
To determine the place value, we look at the position of the digit starting from right to left: Units, Tens, Hundreds, Thousands, and Ten Thousands.

Students often confuse face value with place value. Remember, face value never changes regardless of the digit's position.
